      A Rare Blue Flower. (open)

      Imperial Gardens

Booted footfalls clicked along the duracrete sidewalk at a leisurely yet purposeful pace as a tall near-human strolled through the Imperial Gardens that were located in the middle of Ravelin, the capital city of Bastion. The blue-skinned female was dressed in a naval uniform with a military overcoat covering it. The day was sunny, but chilly as late autumn had come to the Sovereign Galactic Empire's capital world. Was the young Chiss a little homesick, maybe, but the Personnel Exchange Program (PEP) cadet would never acknowledge it publicly.

This weather reminded Brask'ari'sabosen of the her homeworld, which was located deep within Chiss Space. Sposia was much more temperate than the icy coldness of the Chiss Ascendancy's capital world of Csilla. In fact in the warmer months, Sposians could enjoy the ocean waters just off the shores of Salvador City where "Karisa" grew up. The Sabosen family was one of the Ruling Families that made up the CA. House Sabosen was responsible for social issues such as justice, health, and education; one of the reasons Ari became a doctor. She also had an affinity for medicine and helping others.

Brask'ari'sabosen stopped at the edge of the fountain that was in the middle of the gardens and reached into her jacket pocket extracting a small credit coin. She held it between her nimble, blue-hued fingertips, then closed her glowing red eyes as if making a wish. When the jet black-haired medical cadet reopened them, she gave the coin a little toss into the pool of water at the base of the fountain to rest along with the others present from previous wish makers.

      ---
OCC/FYI: I'm reactivating Karisa, who is part of the Personnel Exchange Program (PEP) between the Chiss Ascendancy and SGE. She was a navy cadet/medical officer assigned to the Renkl from previous role-play.

Core Name - Karisa | Given Name - Ari | Professional Name - Dr. K

Having been on Bastion for a rather short time due to being part of the PEP between the Chiss Ascendancy and SGE, Grar’un’ekram was slowly adjusting to life away from his own people. He was truly honored to be selected to be part of such an important program but was slightly confused why he was being sent to work for Intel. It wasn't something he had worked with much over the past few years in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet but he was eager for the challenge and to prove he would excel in this position as he had in the military. Many of his friends had told him he would have gone very far very quickly had he been born into one of the ruling families, being a prodigy and such a natural in everything he had taken on.

Traveling through Ravelin, he could only imagine how his own people would react to being in such a place. He was far from his home of Cormit but in the end he was serving the Chiss Ascendancy and that was all that truly mattered. He would prove to them that even without being high born he was deserving of everything he had earned...even making a private promise he would climb the ranks of Imperial Intelligence. He would see himself climb the ranks and become Director-General before he was through, no matter how hard he would have to work at it he knew it would eventually be his position.

After walking and thinking about everything his life would now become, he stumbled across a very beautiful site...one he hadn't expected to see at all. Before him in a garden was a very beautiful Chiss woman. He had seen a few Chiss after departing the transport that brought a new wave of personnel for the exchange program but they all quickly went their separate ways after promising to reunite again soon. This woman though was not among them and she was dressed in an overcoat which made him assume she had been here for awhile. "Greetings miss." he said with a smile as he approached the woman still dressed in his black CEDF uniform that showed he was of a low house but also a commando in the CEDF.

A man's voice full of an accent that was rare and far between to be heard on Bastion broke her uncharacteristic reverie. The Chiss doctor's dark head turned and two glowing red eyes gazed into another pair a few feet away. She blinked, then gave the male Chiss dressed in a CEDF uniform a curt nod as he had addressed her in Galactic Basic. It irritated Brask'ari'sabosen that they had been instructed to only use the designated language of the Sovereign Galactic Empire for which the PEP's now served, that is if he was assigned as such. It was the only other logical reason why a blue-skinned near-human from the Unknown Regions would be here.

"Hello," Ari replied simply, returning the greeting in Basic, then getting to the root of the conversation quickly; a Chiss trait, not being frivolous when communicating.

"I am Brask'ari'sabosen, core name Karisa, a cadet with the Imperial Navy serving as a medical officer. You are new, yes?"

Grar'un'ekram nodded as the woman truly was a Chiss and returned to basic which was something he truly didn't care for but he understood it was how things were in the Empire and how he would be able to communicate with the members of the Empire but as a Chiss speaking with another one of his own kind he had no interest in their language. "Pleasure to meet you Brask'ari'sabosen and you are correct. I am Grar'un'ekram. core name Rune, a agent with Imperial Intel due to my history as a commando." he responded in their native tongue of Cheunh.

Would she understand him and reply or was she just an exile of their own kind that lost their way and language. Her name said otherwise but he had learned that didn't tell or reveal everything. "What you think of it here?" he asked bluntly as he wasn't sure what to make out of this place yet.

Brask'ari'sabosen wouldn't let on how pleased she was that Gra'run'ekram replied to her in their native tongue. Hearing the words spoken in Cheunh made the Chiss doctor feel not so alone. Ever since her previously betrothed had quite suddenly returned to Chiss Space and their arranged marriage contract soon after rescinded, Ari had silently questioned the reason given. The Chiss Ascendancy was as political as any government or society. She was certain that had come into play.

"I have not spent much time on Bastion itself as I was assigned directly to the ISD Renkl, and subsequently have been out to space since then on a tour of duty. I am on interim leave at the moment as the ship is in for routine maintenance and resupplied," Ari answered back in basic, then switched to Cheunh. "I find the Imperial military satisfactory. It is what I expected for a human-run entity," she nodded exchanging a knowing look with her fellow Chiss.

"You are more than welcome to join me as I continue my walk. I was planning to stop and get a refreshment afterwards before returning to the base.

      Another day, another time...

Brask'ari'sabosen had begun making it a habit to stroll through the beautiful arboretum and botanical gardens in Ravelin when time allowed in her busy schedule. Since the armistice between the Sovereign Galactic Empire and the New Republic, the young Chiss doctor had been stationed on Bastion at the Imperial base there working in the medical center. It was a good way to clear her head and get some sunlight to maximize her mood. Being away from family and others of her own species was difficult, but Ari was always about duty first so she did not let onto her unhappiness.

Long legs took the blue-skinned near human along the paver-covered path that went to orchid greenhouse. In the winter time, it was her favorite to visit since the roses outside were not blooming. Ari's father, Mitth'orus'abosen, cultivated the temperamental flowering planet back on Sposia as they needed much tender loving care to grow and bloom to their full potential. The thought of the hulking judge tending to his precious babies made her dark lips form into the smallest of smiles.

Upon entering the greenhouse, she went counterclockwise and stepped to the right, crimson eyes reviewing the plants and occasionally stopping to take in the fragrance of the flowers at hand.

Again we walk these streets boy! Why do you bother with such stupid things? Antony's 'Dark Passenger' spoke walking with him.

As a few days prior he'd spoken with Denoel who was with the Imperial Government on Bastion. Today he was taking a stroll through the gardens which held a few greenhouses here and there. Something to study while he was here on Bastion for a few days. No doubt just wanting to see what Bastion was about. There was a few times he'd been here but it wasn't too pleasant. He'd gotten lost more times then he could count on his fingers the times he'd come here to the Imperial home world. Not that it bothered him too much, now that he was older. In years past it would have but as an adult he was more or less content with how things would go. Getting lost wasn't the worst. But getting lost in a jungle was another. He'd have beasts and the like to worry about. Here, there were just Imperials who could point the way if he so needed it.

Walking to one of the greenhouses he then saw a Chiss which prompted him to raise his eyebrow as his 'Dark Passenger' folded it's arms across it's chest, snorting. Ignoring it the Apprentice then kept walking through before standing a few feet away from the Chiss woman and noting some of the flowers which grew and flourished in the winter. For whatever reason that would be. It made him curious as he studied them in a group. Taking his datapad out he then noted each one and made a formal documentation of them and noted the aroma and what color blooms they held. Smiling he then went to the next and noted that as well. Being a botanist by hobby he figured he could see which could enhance physical capabilities and some that could hinder them. There weren't any of note here but he might find one or two that nobody guessed or seemed to notice. Maybe they just thought them beautiful to be held here. Some could be deadly in the wrong hands.

"Hmm.." Antony found himself saying out loud by mere mistake.

      Frak... people...

No, Coldi'Ali'Nurodo, or 'Alin' wasn't anti-social, his parents were indeed socialites and taught him to be as such but he enjoyed his privacy too. In fact it was times like walking through the Arboretum like this that he took to sit down and write out his reports from previous ops. The agent, or "Cypher" as they called each other wasn't the musclehead that he appeared to be, okay he was but he was more than just that. That is why he took in whatever he could, not just for entertainment purposes but for work as well. Which is why next month he would be attending a holo-film festival where 'exuberant' director Neli Furtado was going to be featured.

This was for another time though as there was another Chiss, a medic he had seen before walking around and a kid who looked to have a lot on his mind but was trying to hide it. Maybe they wouldn't notice him, if they did it wouldn't matter, he'd be his normal "un Chiss like" self as he was often called.

What is meant by that? Talk to him and find out.

Aaron had walked by the botanical gardens everyday for some time. His assignments had kept him busy, and duty kept him from being with the Empire. There was one of his own he’d wished to see more than anyone, Ari. They had been betrothed to one another, but Aaron had learned that didn’t always mean anything once Chiss left their region of space. There had been many Aaron had run into which no longer followed the principles and discipline of their peoples. His return to Chiss space had caused her father to cancel the engagement. It had been a moment of shame.

He sighed as he walked by, looking at the gardens. It was a very human thing to do, and Aaron had picked up certain of their mannerisms. His red hued eyes saw her. She was in the gardens, even though Aaron hadn’t seen her face, Ari was unmistakable to him.

His steps changed course, and the helm officer turned into the gardens. He ensured his steps were silent until he came close. There was another boy, and a fellow Chiss in the gardens as well. Aside from the audible hmmm everything else was quiet. Aro didn’t wish to disturb the silence, but he did.

”The gardens are lovely today,” he said as he came up behind the woman he had known since childhood.

Brask'ari'sabosen was hoping to find the greenhouse empty of visitors, but that was too much to ask as the flowers presented were at their peak bloom. A beautiful sight even if one did not appreciate this part of nature on a regular basis.

The blue-skinned doctor gave an acknowledging nod in passing to the others there, taking note of one human in particular that was acting, well strangely in her opinion. She wasn't sure he was truly interested in the flowers for their glorious splendor or not. There was just something about him the Chiss could not put a finger on. There was another of her species there as well, but he didn't seem like he wanted to be disturbed so Karisa gave him his space for the moment.

The Orchid of Show was a prize indeed. Karisa stopped in front of it to ponder upon the perfect specimen. That is when a familiar voice she had not heard in quite some time addressed her from behind. After taking a deep breath and letting it out silently to help quell her rapidly beating heart, she turned her dark head to look over her shoulder, glowing red eyes meeting another pair; ones Ari still dreamed of when she allowed it to happen.

"They are," Ari answered back curtly in Galactic Basic to Tora'aro'nuruodo, keeping all emotion off her features and out of her voice. "They are a sight for sore eyes as human's here say," she conveyed, then turned back to admiring the blue flower before her as before, wondering if this was a good thing or bad to be seeing her once betrothed again. They had been childhood friends after all. Why could they not still be on speaking terms.

It was quite warm inside the greenhouse which wasn't a bad thing to him. Noting how each flower seemed to have a life of it's own, the botanist kept writing things on his datapad for later study when he got back to his suite at the hotel way down the block. Smiling at the flowers he passed and noted he knew of some of them but these were ones of a different color. Their nature seemed quite different also. More so they seemed to be growing slower then they did where they originated. Something Antony noticed in all the books and other things he'd read and studied of botany. While a few other Chiss appeared it didn't bother him in the least. There were two who were speaking to one another and the woman was looking at an orchid which he knew of. It was quite poisonous if one knew where to find where the poison lay. Though quite a beautiful specimen he then kept walking by them and briefly looked at the blue flower.

When he came upon it he then noted it in his datapad and smiled. It was quite something to see from his standpoint. Though it growing and blooming in this time of year was odd to say the least. But, then again, this particular greenhouse was kept warm so that such flora and fauna would continue to grow and not hibernate like most plants did. Not that Antony cared at all it was still new to him seeing a greenhouse housing so many plants like this. But, most of these plants weren't anything dangerous at all. Only a handful actually were poisonous. The others were there just to remark beauty in all things of nature. Which Antony grew to be fond of. As strange as that sounded. A Sith he was, but, he had studied plants and such since he was a little kid. Much to the dismay of his parents and his brother Jaden.

"That orchid can be poisonous you know?" Antony stated to the both of them before walking past them to the next flower.

Coldi'Ali'Nuorodo was taught well by his parents to never eavesdrop, and it was a virtue that he always tried to follow in respect to them. The problem is that his training as an agent of Imperial Intelligence counteracted that, and more often than not, well his training overtook his virtue.

"Maybe, but it's not the first time that someone or something had something to hide."

Realizing all eyes were on him, the Chiss cringed a little, unwanted attention was never a good thing. He didn't know Antony, didn't know of his abilities, the Chiss was just speaking what was on his mind in the context of the flower.

"Right?" Putting a fist over his mouth 'Alin' cleared his throat, a bit embarrassed.

"hmmhmm... sorry... hearing of a Porg sometimes."
