      Open Night at the Fights

Gliding through the small, fetid pool afforded Vaago, he enjoyed the new pleasures that Nar Shaddaa had available. Not only was Nal Hutta near the large, industrial moon, but also the natural flora and fauna that he had enjoyed when he was young. Delicacies that wouldn't have to be imported half way across the galaxy any longer also made Smuggler's Moon the ideal place to live and operate. Not to mention the other amenities that the corporate part of the galaxy trying their best to avoid tariffs and other financial burdens that operating on their homeworld would take from their coffers. Now, all these things were his.

Rising from the steaming, murky pool, the Hutt's mottled head shed the thick, viscous liquid as he took in the quartet of Twi'lek and Zeltron females lounging to either side of the pool's outer edge, facing the arena far below. Open to the stadium, crowds making their way to their seats filed down the many aisles and stairways seemed like a constant stream of color. More money in his coffers, he mused as his large arms slapped onto the marble rim of the pool. Gaining the attention of his scantily clad trophies, he leaned in to take it all in.

Enjoying his bath, Vaago decided that he would remain within the pool for the first fight at least.

To either side of the large pool, within the master suite, a long bar commanded both walls, tended to by a serving droid as equally gorgeous waitresses meandered between the eight tables and served his lieutenants and their escorts.

Soon, the lights dimmed in the arena as a single cone of light centered on the floor, far below the ledge of his suite.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the human announcer's voice amplified by the sound system gained everyone's attention. "Welcome to a great bout hosted by our gracious benefactor," he pointed dramatically up toward Vaago and his entourage. "Vaago the Hutt!" A name that garnered thunderous applause.

Raising his right arm, Vaago knew this was all for show and wanted to get on with it, waving at the crowd, then lowered it once again.

"Tonight, we bring you the first of many bouts this evening. The first is between two amazing warriors having risen up through the ranks in arenas across Hutt Space." He turned and motioned to the left as another cone of light spilled onto a large Barabel, his bare chest and thick, muscled arms raised as he turned, vibrosword and shield in his hands raised high. "I give you the Mountain!"

The crowd cheered again, their volume less than Vaago received and it soon died down as the announcer then turned toward the far right as another cone of light fell on an equally impressive Gamorrean wielding two vibroaxes. "His opponent tonight hails from Gamor. Scars bought with a heavy price, though has only motivated him for more blood. I give you Tarok the Terrible!"

Another round of applause as Vaago sized up both contenders and knew that the Barabel had the height advantage, though the Gamorrean had ferocity and probably experience. This would be an interesting fight, he mused as he turned, opening his wide, gaping maw to receive a squirming treat from the closest Twi'lek female. Closing his mouth, the muffled crunch as he killed and then ate the appetizer didn't sicken the four females near him. They were used to his eating habits.

Lights opened up and now cascaded onto the whole circular arena floor as the announcer in white backed toward the main exit, then turned. "Let's get it on!!"

The crowd erupted into another cheer as the two fighters moved toward one another....

As the two contestants meet in the center of the fight circle, Valo arrives late to the party. The crowd erupts in cheers as Mountain lands the first blow, followed by a sharp knee to the stomach sending Tarok to the ground. Mountain hops on Tarok and the two begin to tussle on the ground for the upper hand. Valo has used the back entrance, trying to stay low-key and keeping the attention to the fight. He is flanked by two beautiful women on each arm; one a human with fire-red hair, and the other a beautiful twi'lek with green skin. He is wearing very expensive fine robes adorned with black and yellow stripes and luxurious black leather boots. He struts his way around the crowd, aiming for his private skybox on the upper floor.

Torreno gets into a lift and begins to rise toward his box. As he arrives at the skybox, a huge eruption of cheers booms through the crowd as Tarok has taken an opportunity to lock in a vicious arm bar submission. Inside the sky box, the lighting is dim with deep red walls and chocolate colored carpet. A tray of fine snacks is sitting by the plush tall-backed leather chair. Valo has a seat and adjusts himself to get a better view. The two women pull up chairs on both sides and begin to rub and play with Valo's sleeves of his attire. Torreno smiles and pulls the twi'lek in for a kiss and then rubs the human woman's cheek with his hand.

Valo is loving his new life as co-leader of The Black Sun. He has everything he ever wanted... Money, power, respect, and admiration from all who know him. As he takes up a glass of Corellian champagne, the bell sounds and round one is over. The fighters go to their corners to get patched up as Valo sips from his glass.

The announcer enters the cage with his microphone and points toward the sky box. A spotlight moves over the crowd and beams in Valo's direction...

      Announcer:
Ladies and Gentlemen... We have another guest with us tonight. He is the co-leader of The Black Sun and the man who runs the fights! He is the one and only... VALOOOOO TORRRRR-ENOOOOOO!

The crowd erupts in a wave of cheers. Valo puts his face in his hand and slumps in the chair... He is still not entirely used to the attention he receives and it makes him a bit uneasy. But Valo is perked up by the cheering crowd and he sucks it up and stands. He waves at the crowd and the cheers get louder. Torreno takes his seat as the bell rings for round two.

The fighters collide in the center of the ring and the lock up in a collar and elbow tie-up. Tarok begins landing blows to Mountain's stomach before pulling him over with a hip toss. He gets Mountain in a side headlock and applies pressure. Mountain rolls the hold over and grabs Tarok around the waist and delivers a vicious gut wrench suplex into the side of the cage. Mountain mounts Tarok and begins pummeling away, Tarok trying to block the blows. Tarok slides out and gets to his feet and both men beam at each other. Tarok then delivers a vicious kick to the head, knocking Mountain down to the canvass. Mountain's nose is busted wide open and blood begins to stain the mat!

Tarok goes for another kick, but Mounatin ducks under and grabs the leg, pulling him down for a sharp heel-lock. The move is locked in tight and Tarok cant go anywhere! The blood from Mountain's nose is almost spraying as he grits his teeth, pulling the heel-lock in harder. Tarok pulls his hand up to tap out, but the bell suddenly rings! The ref breaks the hold and round two is now over!

Valo claps as the crowd goes wild with cheers. This fight is a good one. As the men go back to their corners, they prepare for the third and final round...

One of the advantages of the being the connection specialist of the Triad that ran the Black Sun, Sha had just enough clout to get around where she wanted, but not enough that anyone would call her out as guest or host of anything. It gave her enough power to go where she wanted but didn't bring her enough fame to make her contacts nervous about speaking with her.

As the crowd rose to its feet at the end of round two, Sha stepped off the lift on the level of the most important boxes in the arena. Heading down several doors, the two men outside opened them for her and smiled slightly. She nodded and went in as Valo rose to his feet and cheered. She was seen often enough with him and Valo that she wasn't challenged. She waited till he had kissed the girls and quit hollering before she piped up. "Why does it not surprise me you love fights?" With a slight kick to the skirt of her dress, she moved towards him and smiled at the ladies. "I didn't realize you had company. I can find you later, if you prefer." She smiled at him with just enough of a lilt to her crimson lips to hint that privacy was preferred, but it wasn't necessary. Had it been something super important, she would have shown far more jealousy at the women. At some point, she had been dubbed one of the myriad of toys that the head of the Black Sun was always seen with. It had suited them at the time, so in public she didn't do anything to dissuade it. In private... that was another matter.

She crossed her arms over her chest to await not only his answer, but his response to her outfit. Most of the time she was in a tech jumper working on ships at the docking hangers. The rest of the time it was tight denims or leggings and tank tops with denim or leather jackets. She could count on one hand the times she had dressed up enough to make his jaw slack, and still have fingers left over.

Another blink of the small light on the long panel before him, Vaago turned to see the third of their Triad enter in a gorgeous gown. Though he enjoyed attractive women around him, Cad'Sha was one of the leaders and his relationship with her was on a different level altogether. Turning back to the crowd filling the stadium seating below, his eyes fell on the two combatants as they rose for the third round. Contests rarely kept his attention for long as most of these events were only to entertain foreign investors and his own syndicate. Keep the masses happy while you work the background and keep an eye on everything had been his mantra for years and it had served him well.

Ignoring the fight now, he glanced to an approaching Rodian who bowed to him, gaining the attention of Vaago's guards and quartet of females.

Kneeling at the edge of the pool, Vaago leaned in slightly to hear the informant. "My lord, it's done. He's been taken care of as you requested."

"And the accounts," the bass voice inquired.

"Saved," he informed, taking out a glowing datacube and handed it out toward the crime boss as Vaago motioned to the Zeltron female, diverting the prize to the woman who was more than she appeared, as were they all.

"Well done," Vaago nodded. "Enjoy the events and get something to eat, my friend."

Bowing his head once more, the Rodian rose and backed, then moved to the crowd hovering around the bar. Now that that business was concluded, Vaago slid to his left and glanced to the datacube as the shapely entertainer slid it into the slot on the console and tapped a button, accessing the laundry list of financials that had been skimmed and rerouted. Money now on it's way back to the syndicate's accounts. Nodding, his large, snake-like eyes moved back to the fight below as the eruption of cheers denoted a winner....

As Valo's arm waved back to her just before he rose to cheer with the crowd, Cad smiled and moved once more. Vaago had caught her eyes and she slowly moved towards him.

A moment later, she was across the room before the guards. "Vaago didn't say to expect you, Briez. You sure you should be here?" The guard challenged. Like with Valo's ladies, she was known as another informant and not one of the Triad. No one was really sure who the third was, only that there were three in the power structure with the Hutt Master they served. Once more, Cad played it easy.

"Do you think I dress up like this because I'm bored and want to watch a bunch of men beat each other up? Honestly, sports bore me and I doubt either of you can ever recollect seeing me in a skirt, much less a gown. So," she stuck one of her hips out as if bored and crossed her arms. "Are you going to let me by, or wait till Vaago looks over and sees me being held back by you two goons?" She smiled but the sarcasm was dripping like sweet ice from her lips.

The men looked at one another and let her pass without another word.

She saw the Rhodian and her boss speaking so she made for the far wall to slip between folks at the second bar who constantly hovered around the powerful boss like twisted fans. She managed to finally get a drink and maneuver her way out of the crowd as the man and Vaago finished speaking. Stepping a bit closer to him, Cad waited to see if Vaago would acknowledge her or merely let her be 'just one of the crowd' as he had done in the past. If he did that, she would stay till the quarter was over then slip out once more.

As the announcer began prepping the crowd for the next bout, Vaago noted the attention of his Twi'lek companion motion his eyes over to his left once more and the large Hutt turned his head to notice Cad'Sha. An informant and confidante that had played a larger role in the syndicate than most knew and they both liked to keep it that way. For now, anyway. Steam rose with the acrid smell of the bath he rested in, heat glistening on his blue-green skin as the crimelord slid toward her a bit, nearing the Zeltron pair of females who also glanced to Cad'Sha, then scanned the crowd for any creeping too close in an attempt to listen in.

"Don't see you enjoying the blood sport very often," his bass voice stated in perfect Aurebesh. His wide maw grinned as he motioned to the pool, "Join me?" Meaning it as a joke for he knew no one enjoyed the miniature swamp like he and his own did, though the proximity that some had to the pool and it's occupant made him wonder how far some might go to gain his favor.

Cad sidled up to the pool and smiled with a pretty nod to the Zeltronians who took up post around the small conference area. She moved up with almost catlike grace towards the edge of the pool and sat on the wide base that surrounded it. As Vaago made the invitation, she blushed as she was meant to and shook a finger at him. "You know I am not one for audiences, Master." Her fake coy response and title kept up appearances to those listening in, but she leaned closer and smiled brighter as if flirting. This time her voice wouldn't be heard and she tilted her head away from the window and other prying eyes who might try to read her lips as she spoke softly to her companion. "I thought I would let you know that the trade agreement you had me broker was a success. The parts coming into Drifter's now will be 10 percent less. In exchange for the rights to sit at the negotiation table for a chance to trade on the surface as well." The small manufacturing facility on a nearby moon had been over charging Drifter's when it was further away in it's old location. Now that it was closer, Vaago had gotten them to lower their prices, since it wasn't going as far. In exchange, he said they could vie for a chance to trade on the surface of the planet as well. The kicker was, she doubted Vaago would allow it to happen. He would likely see to it they were denied just so he could swoop in and rescue them as the 'middle man' they needed. Their wares got to the surface, and they would get a profit, but Vaago's cut would certainly be far greater.

She then reached out to run her hand down his face as she continued, "And I have been assured the missing pirate has found a new Nexu and is resuming his old habits." Syravari had been a pirate of some renown till he had been captured. While Cad hadn't been part of the rescue, she knew lots of the details of his comings and going since his return. His crew had left his lover on Drifter's only to be caught up with a Sith and departed just before Syra's return. On his return, he had nearly retired because of the loss. Cad had seen to it another young woman had caught his eye. One with his strength and love of the life of piracy and adventure. And Vaago had seen to Syra's acquisition of his former lover's whereabouts. The caveat... Syra wouldn't get that knowledge till his first run was done. Proof that he had earned his place at Vaago's side once more. The interesting part was, Syra had no knowledge he was being positioned to once more lead those who worked for the Hutt and the Dark Sun. This was just a test. The information stick would have his current mission on it with Vaago's personal message that information about his lost crewman would available upon his victorious return.

She leaned back with a small smile and watched Vaago. She knew he loved getting the information that he did from her. But she also knew she loved giving it. Were it not for the fact she held out hopes that Valo might come to notice her, she would probably allow herself to be in private with her other partner. She heard rumors that his abilities were beyond that of any humanoid. Unfortunately, he still slightly frightened her, and she still preferred humanoid lovers. The thought made her glance Valo's way once more as the others flocked around him because of his power and looks. Sometimes, having to remain in the shadows had its downside.

She shook herself free of the dilusions she would be happy and content anytime soon and smiled once more. "So, my dear Master…" the word spoken with a teasing timber because he knew full well she was strong enough to stand on her own against him. It had been one of the reasons she was the third of the triad. "What would you have of me now?" She reached into the murky swamp that encompassed him and picked up a handful to rub along the back of him just above the current mudline. The ruse of being a subservient little toy still visible to those watching.

Listening with rapt attention, Vaago kept his checks and balances in place as his other spies all seemed to keep an eye on one another, even sometimes without the others knowing. He nodded and knew that Sporak had needed the deal more than the hutt, as many that operated on Smuggler's Moon were trying to avoid their home government's interference where they weren't wanted. Tariffs and other taxes were also averted in exchange for a quiet place to operate and experiment while being protected by Black Sun. Benefits went both ways, of course.

Having another of his employees back in business where he belonged was also good news. Eliminating earners took too long and Vaago hated seeing regular monthly payments become less than he had gotten used to. He also had individuals to answer to as well, albeit on the same level as he. His large orbs could also tell that the third in their circle had other things on her mind as she spoke, and then ran her hand within the greenish murk around him.

A short silence between them lingered as the announcer far below then introduced the fighters in the next bout, prompting cheers from the crowd. "I've extended invitations to the heads of three other kajidics to come and open talks for opportunities - at different times of course - and I'd like you to oversee their arrivals. The more we know about these individuals the better. The entourage for a Curser Blood lieutenant is scheduled to arrive in three weeks, so you have that time to get us everything you can on them." Any advantages he could gain on the distant organizations would allow his coffers to fill even more, and make all of them rich.

She smiled as she watched Vaago ponder in silence. It was always interesting, waiting for the big lug to speak again. His mind so intrigued her that she often understood why the Twilek females loved his companionship so. If he spoke so intently about business, how his bed chatter must melt one's body.

When her boss, and partner, spoke again, this time about the kajidics, Cad perked up. "I will see to it. Would you like me to play one of the women meant to entertain them at your behest? Perhaps see what a little drink and tickle loosens up from their tongues?" The seductive suggestion was punctuated by her fingers lightly walking up the back of the figure in the tub. "I'll be more than happy to ply them with enough attention and liquor to not tell which end is up once they are settled in their quarters. Then two days later, you will have all their secrets when they come before you." Her soft laughter rose just enough to make a few nearby hangers on glance back. It was exactly what she had intended. Too much silence wasn't a good thing. It meant either there was a plot others wanted to know about, or someone was being slain, which they would want to know about as well. The laughter was played just well enough to make those straining to listen, relax and back up a bit. Cad was just one of Vaago's favored pets... nothing to see here.

He enjoyed the attention, even though most in the room assumed that the females were only trophies to the hutt and Vaago was more than happy to be attended by the gorgeous females. Even the one now flirting with him, but the large boss was truly only motivated by a clever deal and more credits in his pocket. Her suggestion was one that could definitely gain them what they wanted, he mused.

"Just be careful, their chief is a Weequay, so he may not be as easily seduced by a human," he pushed out a grin, though given the symmetry of his wide mouth, few would be able to detect it. "But, any other avenues that you can use to gain what we need I'll leave up to you." The fight now underway, Vaago's attention was more immediate than down in the distant ring. "Once the dates for the meetings with the other kajidics is scheduled, I'll have you notified."
