Force Users

General Information about Force Users
New Jedi Order:
1. Information about the Jedi way of life and philosophy can be found in a search of the Wookieepedia (See Star Wars Reference Material Websites FAQ item). Jedi are not angry nor do they have Dark Side tendencies. That is known as a Dark Jedi (See Dark Jedi Characters - Sovereign Principality of Ruusan FAQ item).

2. Ranks: The ranks for Jedi are Jedi Padawan, Jedi Knight and Jedi Master. Every new character account at SWRPG starts at the beginning level rank, Jedi Padawan, and progresses through all of the ranks.

3. Falling to the Dark Side: If your character switches from a light side force user group to a dark side force user group, then your character is unable to use any force skill learned up to that point and starts completely over from the beginning level rank in the new group. The reasoning for this is that light side and dark side force users draw upon their power in completely different ways (i.e. calm focused meditation versus rage, hatred, anger, etc.).

The Dark Spire of Ruusan:
1. Information about the Dark Jedi way of life and philosophy can be found in a search of the Wookieepedia (See Star Wars Reference Material Websites FAQ item).

2. Ranks: The ranks for Dark Jedi are Initiate, Knight and Master. Every new character account at SWRPG starts at the beginning level rank, Initiate, and progresses through all of the ranks

3. Following the Calling to the Light Side: If your character switches from a dark side force user group to a light side force user group, then your character is unable to use any force skill learned up to that point and starts completely over from the beginning level rank in the new group. The reasoning for this is that light side and dark side force users draw upon their power in completely different ways (i.e. calm focused meditation versus rage, hatred, anger, etc.). Now if you switch from one dark side group to another dark side group, it will be required that you temporarily drop one rank lower upon entering the new group with the reasoning that the two dark side factions have completely different philosophies. Your character will need to receive extensive "reprogramming" and "retraining" in the new dark side group's way of life.

The Sith Empire:
1. Information about the Sith way of life and philosophy can be found in a search of the Wookieepedia (See Star Wars Reference Material Websites FAQ item).

2. Ranks: The ranks for Sith are Sith Apprentice, Sith Lord and Sith Master. Every new character account at SWRPG starts at the beginning level rank, Sith Apprentice, and progresses through all of the ranks.

Force Powers by Rank
Jedi can choose from the generic/unlabeled or Light (L) force powers and then have their Master train them in those powers. Dark Jedi can choose from the generic/unlabeled, Dark (D), or Dathomir Magic (DM) force powers (but not the ones that say Sith) and then have their Master train them in those powers. Sith can choose from the generic/unlabeled, Dark (D), or Dathomir Magic (DM) force powers including those specific to just the Sith and then have their Master train them in those powers. If the Master has not been trained in one of the force powers that their Padawan/Initiate/Apprentice wants to learn, then the Master will retrieve the proper holocron from the Archives and NPC the holocron master instructing the skill with their Padawan/Initiate/Apprentice.

All force users receive the following force power as a freebie since all characters that recruit to the force user groups have experienced some sort of force sensitivity already:

Lightsaber Form Information
1. Force User characters are not required to train in, use, or make reference to lightsaber forms. It is an option for those who would like to use them. The lightsaber forms actually came along after the opening of SWRPG. Those who use specific lightsaber forms will not be more powerful or skilled in battle than those who choose to just use generic lightsaber duel terms.

2. The lightsaber forms reference link is: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lightsaber_forms#The_Seven_Forms

3. The guidelines for lightsaber form learning and form use is as follows:

Jedi Padawan/Dark Jedi Initiate/Sith Apprentice (may know two lightsaber forms) - Form 1 Shii-cho (pre-requisite for all other forms) plus one of the following - Form 2 Makashi OR Form 3 Soresu OR Form 4 Ataru OR Form 5 Djem So/Shien

Jedi Knight/Dark Jedi Knight/Sith Lord (may know four lightsaber forms: Shii-Cho and additional Form choice from Padawan/Initiate/Apprentice plus two of the following - Form 2 Makashi OR Form 3 Soresu OR Form 4 Ataru OR Form 5 Djem So/Shien OR Form 6 Niman

Jedi Master/Dark Jedi Master/Sith Master (may know all of the lightsaber forms) - Form 2 Makashi, Form 3 Soresu, Form 4 Ataru, Form 5 Djem So/Shien, Form 6 Niman, and Form 7 Juyo

4. If there are any instances of a documented canon reference of a Jedi/Dark Jedi/Sith using a form at a different rank than is listed here and that appears in the Wookieepedia, please PM Dara Shadowtide with the Wookieepedia link for consideration.

Character Types in Force User Groups
NJO
Jedi characters have actual membership in the New Jedi Order. However, there are a variety of character types that can be played with in the compound. These non-force user character types can provide for very interesting storylines. Here is the list of character types allowed to be played in NJO:
-Citizen (Service worker, equipment/starport tech, medical staff)
-Force User (Padawan, Knight, Master)
-Military (pilots would be in the NR)
-Fringe (Droid, Alien)

TDSR:
Dark Jedi characters have actual membership in The Dark Spire of Ruusan. However, there are a variety of character types that can be played with in the compound. These non-force user character types can provide for very interesting storylines. Here is the list of character types allowed to be played in TDSR:
-Citizen (Politicians, Service worker, equipment/starport tech, medical staff)
-Force User (Initiate, Knight, Master)
-Military (would have to have its own small base of operations due to no alliance)

TSE:
Sith characters have actual membership in The Sith Empire. However, there are a variety of character types that can be played with in the compound. These non-force user character types can provide for very interesting storylines. Here is the list of character types allowed to be played in TSE:
-Citizen (Service worker, equipment/starport tech, medical staff)
-Force User (Apprentice, Lord, Master)
-(pilots would be in the TSGE)
-Fringe (Droid, Alien)

Planet Takeovers
PEACEFUL:

Any force-using faction that wants to do a peaceful planet takeover must have a main representative from the planet to broker the deal, whether it is an existing PC, or a NPC that has been developed by faction staff. That meeting can be attended by high-ranking members on both sides, along with aides/padawans. How they got to the point of hashing out an alliance is preamble, exposition that should be given in the first post. Everything need only take one thread, answering some semblance of the following questions:

1. How did [faction] and [planet] come to this point, be it [faction] coming to [planet]'s defense, a proposal from [planet] to [faction] or what-have-you?
2. What can being a member world bring to that planet, be it security, support from healers, advisors to diplomats, government, and the military, jedi ambassadors, etc?
3. What can the planet contribute to the faction, be it a prime location on a galactic scale, resources, a commitment to screening of children and other citizens for force-sensitives, etc?

The result of the peaceful planet takeover opens the planet to relations with other planets via existing alliances between FU and NFU factions, and further supports due to that alliance could be factored into the deal - bolstering planetary defenses, agricultural development, and so on. The agreement can include a presence from the allied NFU faction, such as a military base, or other structures.

HOSTILE:

For a hostile takeover, negotiations (terms of a surrender) should be hashed out after the conclusion of the battle - that is, at the end of the thread - with whoever stands as planetary leadership at the end, detailing what the faction requires of the planet, and what the faction may or may not do for the planet. All told, the hostile FU faction must subjugate the planet in the following areas over the course of the thread:

1. Government
2. Industry
3. Populace

The result of the hostile planet takeover results in the placement of new leadership, be it from an aligned sector of the populace, or from the factions’ own personnel, whether an existing PC, or an NPC developed by faction leadership. From there comes the planet’s representative within the faction, and opens the planet to relations with other worlds via existing alliances between FU and NFU factions. Supports from the allied NFU faction can be provided, if desired - infrastructure improvements, planetary defenses, and so on. The allied NFU faction may be allowed to place a presence on the world, that might include a military base or other structures, if desired. The planet itself may or may not have a choice in the matter.

Planet Holdings
1. The maximum number of planets a Force User Faction can influence is 10 plus the faction's home planet.
2. NJO's claimed home planet is Yavin 8 and the influenced planet is Ossus.
3. TDSR's claimed home planet is Ruusan and the influenced planet is Hapes.
4. TSE's claimed home planet is Munto Codru and the influenced planet is Dathomir.
